Tis The Season

Season’s Greetings from all of us here at Teed Off Tee Times to all of our friends.  We would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays (Feliz Navidad), a Happy New Year (Feliz Ano) and all the best in 2013.

As the Holiday Season is upon us, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year and on those who have helped us shape and grow our business and the new friends we have made from all over the world.  We value the relationships we have built with you and look forward to working with you in 2013 and beyond.

Tips For Holiday Season Tee Times

Seasons Greetings Everyone.  The holiday season in the Cancun / Riviera Maya destination is the busiest week of the year for Teed Off Tee Times.  Golfers from all over the world come to our area to celebrate the holiday season and get away from cold winter storms.

We are always asked by golfers “Should we book in advance or wait until we arrive?’ in the weeks leading up to our holiday season.  For us, a tee time is like a hotel room or a flight, if you leave it until the last minute your choices become very limited and you could be disappointed.

Having golf courses like El Camaleon Mayakoba, TPC Cancun, Riviera Maya and Grand Coral means we have some of the best golf in the caribbean.  Golfers either want to play early in the morning (6:30-8:00) so they have the afternoon to spend with their families or they want to play at Twilight because the pricing is less.  By booking early, you are guaranteed your tee time and transportation as well.  This means having an early tee time getting off the golf course before noon.  Or getting onto the golf course at Twilight and still having enough time to play 18 holes…remember, it gets dark here at 5:30 pm.

To book your tee time, e-mail us at info@teedoffteetimes.com or call us on our toll-free number 1-855-833-3633.

PGA Tour Announces New 2013-2014 Schedule

Earlier this week the PGA Tour announced the first six events of their new 2013-2014 wrap around schedule.  These first six events will take place in October and November 2013.  The final event will be the newly re-named OHL Classic at Mayakoba, November 14-17, 2013.  Previously known as the Mayakoba Golf Classic, this event is held at El Camaleon Golf Club at Mayakoba and is the result of OHL’s continuing committment to both Mayakoba and the PGA Tour.

The OHL Classic at Mayakoba now boasts its own unencumbered date on the PGA TOUR calendar affording any PGA TOUR player, regardless of world ranking, the opportunity to compete in Mexico’s Only PGA TOUR Event should he meet qualifying criteria and wish to play. Previously the tournament had been held in February opposite the World Golf Championships—Accenture Match Play Championship, prohibiting the top 64 players in the world from enjoying the chance to compete at Mayakoba.

“We are honored to continue as host of Mexico’s Only PGA TOUR Event and extremely pleased to now have our own week on the TOUR schedule,” said Andres Pan de Soraluce, CEO of OHL Developments, owner and developer of the Mayakoba Resort.  “In many ways a new era has been born for this tournament and we are excited about our new date and look forward to a bright future. We are confident the 2013 tournament will be a signature event for Mexico and for golf worldwide.  As always, we are eager to share the beautiful Mayakoba resort as well as the Riviera Maya and Cancún regions with the best golfers in the world and an international television audience.”

As part of the announcement, officials also unveiled an increase in the total purse to $6 million USD guaranteeing the winner will earn a check of more than $1 million USD. The OHL Classic at Mayakoba will continue to offer the largest amount of prize money of any golf tournament in Latin America, a distinction it has held since its inception in 2007.With this new date, the tournament will continue to be a part of the season-long FedExCup competition and will now distribute a full allocation of FedExCup points. In addition to a winner’s check of $1.08 million USD, the champion will also earn 500 FedExCup points. Previously, the event awarded 250 points to the first-place finisher.

We here at Teed Off Tee Times, based in the beautiful Riviera Maya and Cancun destination, count El Camaleon Mayakoba as our favourite golf course because of it’s year-round PGA Tour conditioning and it is the only golf course in the destination to have two golf holes along the Mexican Caribbean.

Grand Coral Golf Club’s Third Season

Grand Coral Golf Club is a Nick Price golfer-friendly creation where Tee’d Off Tee Times sends many of our clients to enjoy playing this 7,043 yard, par 71 course. Grand Coral also offers a modern Club House and exclusive Beach Club.

Grand Coral Riviera Maya Resort is an excellent example of golf course designers and developers working proactively with environmental groups and government agencies, among others, to create golf courses that are planned, constructed and maintained according to a set of standards that fulfill and even surpass local and federal environmental requirements.

This resort is within the city limits of Playa del Carmen right next to the Caribbean Sea.  Grand Coral satisfies the needs of the area’s growing population while, whenever possible, protecting native vegetation and minimizing the need for excess water consumption.

The vision of golf course designer Nick Price was to create a golf course that naturally adjusted and was sensitive to the beauty of the already existing environment.

Tee’d Off Tee Times has watched this course mature, and would recommend this course for all golfers staying in Playa del Carmen area and the Riviera Maya Resorts.
