TEED OFF TEE TIMES WELCOMES ITS FIRST GUESTS FROM ENGLAND
It seems Teed Off Tee Times has made it across the pond to Manchester and Leeds, England. Earlier this week we welcomed Gary Wilson and Phil Lister to the beautiful Riviera Maya.
Gary (Manchester) and Phil (Leeds) were searching for golf courses before their vacation and came upon us at www.teedoff.com.mx After sending a note to us, Gary and Phil were very happy to find a real person answering their questions and booking their tee times. Here is what they wrote after they returned back to England…
Hi Cheryl,
I’m finding it hard to believe I’m home I can tell you we have played golf in the UK, Spain, Florida and California, before trying the courses on the Riviera Maya this May. We had a great time, playing Grand Coral, Playacar and Mayakoba.
The all-inclusive golf at Playacar was unbelievable. The front 9 was really tricky for us, probably hampered slightly by the few beers we had in the club house before we even started! Eventually we got used to the narrow (for us) fairways and ‘jungle trouble’, and also the refreshments that kept coming all the way round 
My claim to fame here was sinking an 8 foot putt on the 18th to win from 3 down with 5 to play. And also still being able to stand after the several (inclusive) cocktails in the bar afterwards……
Mayakoba was truly amazing; up there with the best we have ever played. I actually played pretty poorly that day, but still enjoyed it immensely. The course was immaculate, and the Par 3s by the beach particularly were fantastic holes. Also great value for a PGA Tour course, given we took advantage of the twilight rate.
Although we would say Mayakoba was ‘the best of the fortnight’, Grand Coral was probably the most forgiving for our standard of play, whilst still providing a great challenge. The fairways were again immaculate, and the water always made you think about which shot to play. We played here three times, a no-brainer for us at $88 a round at 1pm ‘twilight’. On our final day we also met a guy who was involved in building the course – the ‘shaper’ – he was really pleased to hear our positive comments about the layout.
We must also thank you for your organization which enabled us to have such a good time on the course. It was great to meet you on our first day, and we are very grateful for the continuing feedback and assistance you provided throughout our time in Playa Del Carmen. I hope we are the first of many customers for you from the UK – we would certainly encourage anybody coming to the area to golf to secure your services…..

Introducing….Grand Coral! Our newest golf course in the region.

Grand Coral is located off the highway in Playa del Carmen 45 minutes south of Cancun international airport and only 5 minutes north of Playa del Carmen. This course offically opened its doors to the general public for a soft opening at the end of February. At this moment the course only has 9-holes open for play. Our staff went out for a round of golf to see for ourselves what the course has to offer so far. Let us tell you-we were quite impressed with the holes that were open for play. *They do have a 9-hole and 18-hole (play 9 opened holes twice) pricing option available for clients that are willing to take the challenge.
On March 29th, Grand Coral Riviera Maya will be hosting its designer, the legendary Nick Price, for the offical grand opening of his newest golf course in the Riviera Maya. Upon completion Grand Coral is slated to be a par 71 expanding to 6, 990 yards. Its club house just finishing up its construction will be the most modern facility in our region. Be sure not to forget your bathing suit as with a round of golf at Grand Coral you get free access to their fantastic beach club.
The beach club has a special going through the end of March, that if you hand this coupon to the waiter you will receive a free cocktail while you relax by the beach.
In other exciting news, Lorena Ochoa stopped by for a visit at Grand Coral earlier in the month. She is considered as the best female golfer in Mexico and ranked #1 in the world. Since childhood, Lorena started her golf career winning national tournaments in Mexico, earning exposure and recognition worldwide.
Lorena is the first and only Mexican female Golfer to win the LPGA Golf circuit. Also 26 major wins in her professional career and in 2002 she launched “Lorena Ochoa” foundation helping educate children in her home country of Mexico. She is an admirable young athlete always looking for success. She is also currently working on her first signature residential development here in the Riviera Maya: Lorena Ochoa Residences.
