During the WGC Cadillac Championships at Doral’s final round, three big names in golf were battling down the stretch to claim another career PGA Tour title. Keegan Bradley hasn’t been on the scene long but, with a major, another PGA Tour win and multiple top 10s, has risen above the rest. Bubba Watson is the fan favorite nearly every time he tees it up and over the last two seasons has gone from “fun play with tons of talent” to “potential major champion that has refined all parts of his golf game.” And the eventual champion, Justin Rose, is a late-bloomer but has now claimed four titles in the last 20 months, more than anyone else on the PGA Tour.
But the one thing all of those guys shared was no matter which of the threesome won, it would be a first in 2012. There have been 12 PGA Tour events and 12 different winners. Nobody repeating.
Bubba Watson in the favorites by the fans. Known for incredible shot-making, mammoth drives, a hot pink shafted driver and an electric personality, Bubba Watson is a true all American superstar. Bubba grew up the small town of Bagdad, Florida where he began the game of golf at age 6. He was given a cut down 9-iron from his father and learned to play the game by hitting wiffle-balls around the house. More interestingly, the only golf lesson Bubba received was from his father at a very young age and he has not had a lesson since. He is truly a self-taught golfer.
Keegan Bradley voted 2011 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.
Based on his phenomenal first year on the tour, including a major win in the PGA Championship, Keegan Bradley was voted Rookie of the Year by his peers on the PGA Tour. The prototypical modern golfer, Keegan always ranks near the top in driving distance and has great touch on and around the greens. He turned pro in 2008 and became a PGA Tour member after finishing 14th on the final Nationwide
Justin Rose is one of the leading European players and was the winner of the “European Tour Order of Merit” in 2007. He was seen by a Global TV audience in the 2008 Ryder Cup performing as the best rookie of both teams. Only three years later in 2010, Justin had two victories on the PGA Tour in the space of a 4 week period. His maiden victory in the US came at the famous Jack Nicklaus Memorial tournament and he was very close to making it two wins in two events at the Travelers Championship. Justin went on to secure his 2nd win in the US just a week later at the AT&T National.
